Strategy
-
Our strategy involves a number of activities and initiatives, including events, workshops, meetings with politicians and civil servants, campaigns and various forms of support activities. Through these activities, we seek to raise awareness, create change and strengthen society's understanding of these important issues. We will work to build bridges between different social groups and promote dialogue and understanding across cultural and social divides. We will also promote a thorough understanding of the concept of "gender apartheid" and support the campaign against gender apartheid in solidarity. We see the emergence of regimes that openly use legislation to oppress women.
-
We will work in particular to inform politicians and create engagement among the public to achieve meaningful changes. We will work to ensure that the Danish government gains more insight into the situation of girls and women in Iran and Afghanistan. In SASH, we believe, like many other UN actors and activists, that girls and women in Afghanistan and Iran are subjected to gender apartheid, as they are systematically oppressed and discriminated against. Our goal is for the Danish government to officially recognize this systematic discrimination as gender apartheid. SASH will work with civil servants and politicians to interpret and expand the legal definition of gender apartheid so that it includes serious forms of institutionalized gender-based discrimination. Especially when this is negotiated in international forums, for example under the auspices of the UN.
-
We also want to collaborate with other organizations and actors who share our values and goals to strengthen our efforts and maximize our impact. We will be visionary and innovative in our approach, always striving to find new and effective ways to advance our mission.
